He was a Mexican film, stage and television actor who began his career in silent films in 1917 and eventually became a leading man and one of the top box office attractions of the 1920s and early 1930s. Novarro was promoted by MGM as a “Latin lover” and became known as a sex symbol after the death of Rudolph Valentino. Novarro was troubled all his life by his conflicted feelings toward his Roman Catholic religion and his homosexuality. His body was found after being brutally murdered by hustler brothers Paul and Tom Ferguson, aged 22 and 17, who called him and offered their services. He had hired prostitutes from an agency to come to his Laurel Canyon home for sex previously, and the Fergusons obtained Novarro’s telephone number from a previous guest.

1969 – Sixty members of the Gay Liberation Front (GLF) and the Society for Individual Rights(SIR) stage a protest outside the offices of the San Francisco Examiner in response to another in a series of news articles disparaging LGBT people in San Francisco’s gay bars and clubs. The peaceful protest against the “homophobic editorial policies” of the Examiner turned tumultuous and were later called “Friday of the Purple Hand” and “Bloody Friday of the Purple Hand.” Examiner employees “dumped a bag of printers’ ink from the third story window of the newspaper building onto the crowd.” Some reports state that it was a barrel of ink poured from the roof of the building. The protesters “used the ink to scrawl ‘Gay Power’ and other slogans on the building walls” and stamp purple hand prints “throughout downtown San Francisco” resulting in “one of the most visible demonstrations of gay power.” According to Larry LittleJohn, then president of SIR, “At that point, the tactical squad arrived – not to get the employees who dumped the ink, but to arrest the demonstrators. Somebody could have been hurt if that ink had gotten into their eyes, but the police were knocking people to the ground.”The accounts of police brutality include women being thrown to the ground and protesters’ teeth being knocked out.

1969 – Time magazine runs a cover story entitled, “The Homosexual: Newly Visible, Newly Understood.” The author, Christopher Cory, presents a “case for greater tolerance of homosexuals” yet “emphasized the effeminate side of homosexuality to the exclusion of everyone else,” resulting in a protest at the Time-Life Building on November 12, 1969.

1969: In San Francisco, lesbians and gay men protest homophobic language in the Examiner. Newspaper employees respond by showering the demonstrators with purple ink. Violence ensues.

Two days after Beatles fan Raymond Jones asked for The Beatles’ German single ‘My Bonnie’ (recorded with Tony Sheridan) at Brian Epstein’s NEMS record store in Liverpool, two girls asked for the same record. Epstein’s difficulty in locating the record was due to him not knowing that the record was released, not by The Beatles, but by Tony Sheridan and ‘The Beat Brothers’ (‘Beatles’ resembles a vulgar slang word in German, so The Beatles’ name was changed for this single).

from the article:

Lesbians, it has to be spelled out these days, are same-sex attracted – i.e. not sexually attracted to men or any part of a male anatomy. Yet it turns out that lesbians increasingly find themselves harassed, abused and violated by men, who are using the mental fog of the trans debate to cover for their depravity.

You see, the homophobia of the past has not disappeared. It’s just been given a shiny new multi-coloured rebrand and been alloyed to sexism in order to make lesbians an acceptable target for abuse.

Lesbophobia, what the BBC report is really about, is misogyny on steroids: how dare these women think they can exclude men from their dating pool? Accusations of transphobia are bandied about as a manipulative tool to coerce lesbians into having sex with men, men who call themselves lesbians.

LGBTQ2 for October 29

Before the 1900s to The Suffragettes

630 B.C., Lesbos – Sappho is born c. (630 – 570 BC) . The poet wrote beautiful poetry to the women she loved. It is because Sappho and her followers lived on the Isle of Lesbos that women who love women call themselves “lesbian” to this day. Sappho is known for her lyric poetry, written to be sung and accompanied by a lyre, and which is usually about the love and passion of women. Most of Sappho’s poetry is now lost, and what is extant has survived only in fragmentary form, except for one complete poem – the “Ode to Aphrodite”. As well as lyric poetry, ancient commentators claimed that Sappho wrote elegiac and iambic poetry. Lesbian author Willa Cather (December 7, 1873[2] – April 24, 1947) wrote “Sappho wrote only of one theme, sang it, laughed it, sighed it, wept it, sobbed it. Save for her knowledge of human love she was unlearned, save for her perception of beauty she was blind, save for the fullness of her passions she was empty-handed.”

44 B.C.: According to Quist, today marks the first day in recorded history with mention of same-sex marriage. Quist notes, “Cicero insults Mark Anthony for being promiscuous in his youth until Curio ‘established you in a fixed and stable marriage, as if he had given you a stola.’ A stola is the traditional garment of a married Roman woman. ‘Although Cicero’s sexual implications are clear, the point of the passage is to cast Anthony in the submissive role in the relationship and to impugn his manhood in various ways; there is no reason to think that actual marriage rites were performed.'”

1926: The New York Times printed a book review of Dr. Joseph Collins’ “The Doctor Looks at Love and Life.” In this text Collins disputed the claim that same-sex love is pathological and famously claimed that “genuine homosexuality is not a vice, it is an endowment.”

because religion is the easy go to reason and it is clearly not the only part of the heterosexual mostly ,but male caused problems of male vs males, which then women are the battleground for heterosexual men and as recent years have made pointed clear gay and bisexual men supporting transwomen vs lesbians…. we need to go beyond the obvious to the full span of a problem before it can be resolved.

it has gotten so bad for women that there has been a transwomen saying that trans activists went too far and there should have been more consultation before taking over women’s groups and failing to recognize women’s reality.

after decades of lawsuits against women’s groups and lesbian groups…. from women’s prisons to rape/crisis centres, to women’s centres to lesbian not for public access events and spaces

the harms have been done

when transwomen object to language that describes women, that is the hate speech against women

trans persons complain that they are fetishized as they cotton ceiling fetishize lesbians then call others bigots who are not attracted to trans – meaning they are no different than heterosexual incels

admitting to unreasonableness and repeating what women have been saying does not confer reasonableness – there was no call to stop sexually harassing lesbians and cease the terf slur. this is a we went to far and attempt to roll back when damage has been done – not only to individual women, but women’s organizations as well. transwomen were not allies with women for mutial protection from hetersexual male violence, transwomen went after women’s groups and especially lesbians with decades of sexual fetish being expressed as the name calling and taking over our dyke march, kicking lesbians out of pride and other lgbt organizations and also for heterosexual women’s groups, where women of the 1970s are trash talked for taking care of heterosexual women and not transvestites

this is where sounding reasonable is not actually reasonable, without acknowledgement of harms done and stepping back across the lines crossed, not negotiating from where the too far was.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/opinion/opinion-trans-rights-radical-activism-1.6220106Trans rights? Yes. Toxic, in-your-face activism? No | CBC NewsConflicts between transgender and women’s rights do exist, but that doesn’t mean we should censor discussion and debate, writes Jessica Triff.www.cbc.ca

this is the website for the Vancouver based trans organization that is fixated on lesbians rather than dealing with trans safety from heterosexual males

it is good to know what the talking points are to challenge and dismiss them as unprovable and not relevant to the majority of the population

transgender are no different from heterosexual incels who complain women do not date them

if you look at the site, the word “colonialism” is used, which is overreach and easy word to throw around to make white heterosexuals more on the political left yield, and it follows all the other name calling towards those who are not dating trans persons – rather than trans addressing the crimes against lgbtq2 and heterosexual women.
